WOW BOLINAO!

Where the heaven is Bolinao?

“Bolinao is a first class municipality in the province of Pangasinan and is fast rising as a new summer destination in the region. Despite the fame of its neighboring town, Alaminos, the humble municipality of Bolinao can still capture the hearts of tourists with its multitude of cascading waterfalls, century-old lighthouse, mystical caves and other wow-ing attractions. “

Bolinao faces the Lingayen Gulf and is located on the northernmost tip of Pangasinan, thus the lighthouse was built by the Americans in 1903 to guide ships, ferries and boats. The lighthouse, however, was also destroyed by a strong typhoon a few years back

Bolinao Falls 1

The waterfalls were named based on a numbering system, probably because of their close proximity from one another. The Bolinao Falls 1 had a small yet deep catch basin that invites guests to go for a cliff dive.

Bolinao Falls 2

The Bolinao Falls 2 is a series of shallow turquoise rockpools with waters flowing down from the smooth limestone formations. Even if its elevation isn’t towering like the first waterfalls, the Bolinao Falls 2 serves as a water park for families and kids given its wide open space. It’s also a place for a medium-high cliff jump.

The crowd was lesser in Bolinao Falls 2. Of all the three waterfalls, it was also the aptest for swimming. The extensive shade covers the guests from the intense sunrays since it is nestled in lush tropical surroundings.

Bolinao Falls 3

Before reaching the third waterfalls, tourists will hike down a paved stairway for a bit. The third waterfalls had a combination of qualities from both Bolinao Falls 1 and 2. Bolinao Falls 3 was a great venue for adventure-seekers to go cliff jumping (although not as high as Bolinao Falls 1) and at the same time, it also had an open space for rafting and swimming like Bolinao Falls 2.

Patar Beach Resort

Patar beach resort is really Boracay of the North. With a blue ocean and white fine sand. And a beautiful sunset.

“Not as great as boracay but close”

Being the hidden jewel of the North, Patar Beach is considered a treasure as it is situated where the Lingayen Gulf meets the South China Sea.  The stretch of the tan to creamy white sand beach and its aquamarine water make it one of the best beaches of the town.  The sand is not so fine but grainy, which is similar to the texture of the sand in Pundaquit, Zambales.  But what makes this place unique is its natural and unexploited beauty.  Even if it’s a public beach, the place has maintained its cleanliness and it is uncrowded.

Cape Bolinao Lighthouse

Cape Bolinao Lighthouse is a towering edifice located in the picturesque town of Bolinao in Pangasinan. This lighthouse is proudly standing for over ten decades atop the Punta Piedra Point. This magnificent construction is one of the five main lighthouses of this country and has been guiding the vessels and ships that cruise through the international passage down the West Philippine Sea.

Located in the midst of the diverse flora, Cape Bolinao Lighthouse was constructed in the year 1905 by the Filipino, American and British architects. It seconds the Cape Bojeador lighthouse situated in Burgos, Ilocos Norte in terms of height. It has become one of the well-known tourists’ spots in Pangasinan over the years.

The height of this lighthouse is 101 foot, i.e., 30.78-meters. If a person is standing on its top, then he or she will see a panoramic shot that encompasses the view of the aquamarine sea, stretches of the white sandy beach, rock formation, offshore reefs and gently sloping lush green hills.

Enchanted Cave is one of the must-visit attractions in Bolinao, Pangasinan. The entire place is really enchanted since it is like a huge coral reef that emerged from underwater.
